1 — Modeling
Define the hierarchical reference of the facility. The drop-down lists on other pages (PHA, FMEA, HAZOP) are populated from this reference — fill it in before starting the analyses.
Systems tab
Each system is the root of the hierarchy (e.g.: Storage, Reaction process, Utilities).
Fields: Name, Description.
From the systems table, you can directly add related functions and components via the clickable chips.
Functions tab
Functions describe what a system does (e.g.: Demineralized water supply, Temperature control).
Fields: Parent system (selection), Function name, Description.
Components tab
Components are the physical equipment that carry out the functions (e.g.: Pump P-101, Control valve V-203, Exchanger E-301).
Fields: Parent system, Name, Type (pump / valve / exchanger / sensor / …), Description.
Import from the FMEA component library for common equipment.
Nodes tab
HAZOP nodes are sections of the process circuit on which the analysis is applied (e.g.: Ammonia supply line upstream of valve V-101).
Fields: Node name, Parent system, Description, Associated process variables.
TIP
A HAZOP node typically corresponds to a piping section between two main pieces of equipment on the P&ID.
Process variables tab
Variables are the physical quantities measured on the facility, used as parameters in the HAZOP analysis.
Fields: Name (e.g.: Flow, Pressure, Temperature), Unit (m³/h, bar, °C…), Associated node, Nominal value, Normal operating range.
Phases tab
Phases describe the different operating modes (for a Process-type FMEA): start-up, nominal operation, shutdown, maintenance, cleaning…
